The Murder of Tyre Nichols

Five Black Memphis police officers are facing multiple charges for the
death of Tyre Nichols. The 29-year-old was pulled over during a traffic stop and was beaten, pepper sprayed, and tasered.  
Nichols died in the hospital from his injuries 3 days later on January 10. The
police body-cam video was released to the public on January 27 causing
nationwide outrage. 
The officer’s charges include Second-degree murder, aggravated assault,
aggravated kidnapping, official misconduct, and official oppression.  
What makes this case even more shocking is that all five Police officers involved are African Americans. I decided not to watch the video for my own mental health wellness. I still have not recovered from the George Floyd 2020 video. The fact that the Incident took place 80 yards away from his mother’s house and was heard calling for his mom in the video is not only triggering but also extremely heartbreaking. Mr. Nichols was a father, a FED EX employee, and an aspiring photographer with a passion for skateboarding. The same hands that were supposed to serve and protect him, took his life away.
